Since its inception in 1976, RAYMOND WEIL has always been proud to call Geneva its home. Now, the Maison celebrates its close ties with the city by releasing a new version of its popular freelancer diver model. The RAYMOND WEIL freelancer diver Geneva Limited Edition pays tribute to Lake Geneva, widely known as ‘Lac Léman’, the most recognisable landmark of the city.

At the heart of the new freelancer diver watch sits the Calibre RW4200, a Swiss automatic movement with a power reserve of 38 hours. The model is water resistant to 310m, the depth of Lac Léman. Indeed, it is this latter figure which also inspired RAYMOND WEIL to limit production of this divers’ watch to just 310 pieces.

Endowed with a blue gradient dial, the freelancer diver Geneva Limited Edition pays tribute to Lac Léman. Mid-blue tones populate the upper reaches of the dial.

These transition to dark blue hues adjacent to 6 o’clock, a visual metaphor for the deepest, darkest parts of the lake. Another reference to water and the lake is the drop-shaped aperture, positioned at 6 o’clock, that reveals the date in lucid form. The design of each numeral on the date disc has been optimally shaped to improve legibility. This notion of legibility also extends to the central sweep seconds hand which features a ‘lollipop’, a useful feature when exploring the lake underwater.

The barrel-shaped hour and minute hands converse with applied indexes, eloquently conveying meaning. Both the hands and indexes are treated with Super-LumiNova®, aiding readability in dim light conditions. During the day this luminescent material appears light grey, inspired by the mountains that look down on the lake, however, as night falls, a bewitching blue emission comes out to play. The 42.5mm stainless steel case features a scratch-resistant, rotating black ceramic bezel. As diving convention dictates, the bezel is unidirectional and readability is assured courtesy of its light-grey count-up scale and the Super-LumiNova® marker at 12 o’clock.

Equipped with a screwed-down case-back, the rear of the watch is engraved with a depiction of the ‘Jet d’Eau’, the famous Genevan landmark.

The watch is presented on a 5-row stainless steel bracelet and features a folding clasp with a double push-security system.
