Exploring New Heights: Ball Watch and Snoopy in Flight

A touch of whimsy. A dash of daring. An infusion of humour that’s heartwarming and human. Created by Charles M. Schulz in 1950, Peanuts is iconic storytelling that goes beyond its square comic strip boundaries to show us that failure and perpetual optimism are part of every journey. In our first collaboration, we present the Engineer Master II Snoopy Flying Ace. Its thrilling precision, unshakeable durability and unrivalled brightness join forces with the Peanuts gang – reminding us that sometimes a little imagination is all you need to take flight.

To mark Snoopy’s debut in the Peanuts comic strip on October 4, 1950, the series is limited to just 410 pieces – a rare collector’s edition that ties timeless storytelling to BALL’s tradition of precision watchmaking.

DARK NIGHTS, BRIGHT SPIRITS

Nothing can stop the World War I Flying Ace – aka arguably Snoopy’s most famous persona. Not even darkness. That’s why the timepiece is outfitted with micro gas tubes, a revolutionary technology that automatically glows in all dark conditions. At each hour marker, baton-shaped gas tubes slightly extend above the dial yet still retain a flat, layered look. Together with the thinner tubes on the hour and minutes hands, the time is visible all through the darkness – zero charging required. No matter the adventure, there’s always a light waiting for you.

LET YOUR CHARM TRIUMPH

More than just a beloved beagle, Snoopy is a world-famous daydreamer and adventurer. And nothing showcases this better than his World War I Flying Ace alter ego, soaring through imaginary skies and battling his arch-nemesis the Red Baron. At the 9 o’clock sub-dial, our hero guides his doghouse-turned-Sopwith Camel biplane in full outfit – aviator helmet, goggles and scarf waving in the wind – alongside his best friend Woodstock as the tip of the seconds hand. Friendship fuels every great adventure.

The three-dimensional Flying Ace motif on the sunken sub-dial gives the watch striking visual presence, while the Super-LumiNova coating ensures the daring spirit shines both day and night. Turn the watch over and discover even more: Snoopy on yet another daring mission.

TIMELESS MECHANICAL CHARACTER

Inside the Engineer Master II Snoopy Flying Ace, the manual-winding BALL RR2102 movement powers the hour and minutes hands, along with the playful seconds hand located at the 9 o’clock position. The manual-winding movement is a nod to the movements used in classic aviation watches worn by World War I pilots. When using the easy-to-grip onion crown to wind the movement, you’ll feel the tension as the mainspring tightens. Smooth and deliberate, every turn of the crown transforms an ordinary task into a charming ritual.

BORN FOR THE SPOTLIGHT

Just like Snoopy, the 46mm stainless steel case commands attention yet radiates effortless charm. The impressive size allows for uncluttered dial legibility, especially when showcasing the Flying Ace motif. And thanks to its slim 12.35mm thickness, the case provides incredibly smooth wearing comfort, even on smaller wrists. Rounding out the exterior is classic aviation watchmaking: the onion crown. More than timeless decorative appeal, it delivers functional design via its curved contour and fluted ridges. Easy to grip even with gloved hands. The riveted, tapered calf leather strap further nods to the vintage military theme of the series.
